Tom is the founder of TownSquare Capital. He brings over 20 years of project management experience to the team, having overseen Federal environmental cleanup projects with budgets totaling over $100M. Tom’s passion is to build communities that residents are proud to live in, and provide returns to investors allowing them to live their best lives. He is a teambuilder and active multifamily syndicator who uses his management background to direct multifamily renovation projects, increasing cash flow and forcing appreciation. Tom acquired his first apartment complex in 2016, self-managed it during the reposition process, and then turned it over to professional property management. He experienced the real power of multifamily investing when he completed a cash-out refinance of that first property. The refinance allowed him to remove all his invested capital, maintain ownership, and freed up cash to complete additional renovations, as well as invest in several other deals. With TownSquare Capital, He is able to apply that model to larger properties to serve his growing list of investors. He and his wife live in East Tennessee and have three grown children. Their oldest son Evan is a partner in TownSquare Capital (see below). Tom has also participated as a limited partner in the ownership of 465 multifamily units in South Carolina and Indiana.
